Paint me a picture of life...
Shades of pain and laughter...
Mixed with joy and strife...
Let the canvass dream and fail...
And let it show that we are frail...
Darken the pain...
And see what do we gain?
Nothing but black?
No, see what it lacked...
The contrast increased...
Can't you see the colors hightened...

[i'll finish this when i can..]

I've bumpped to an email about personalities of kids being born in each month of the year. Here is what it says for kids being born in March (take note on the text in red BOLD letters):

Attractive personality. Sexy. Affectionate Shy and reserved. Secretive. Naturally honest, generous and sympathetic. Loves peace and serenity. Sensitive to others. Great kisser!!!!!! Easily angered. Trustworthy. Appreciative and returns kindness. Hardly shows emotions. Tends to bottle up feelings. Observant and assesses others.

This thing makes real sense to me.:D

This is what it says for those being born in November:

Trustworthy and loyal. Very passionate and dangerous. Wild at times. Knows how to have fun. Sexy and mysterious. Everyone is drawn towards your inner and outer beauty and independent personality. Playful, but secretive. Very emotional and temperamental sometimes. Meets new people easily and very social in a group. Fearless and independent. Can hold their own. Stands out in a crowd. Essentially very smart. Usually, the greatest men are born in this month. If you ever begin a relationship with someone from this month, hold on to them because their one of a kind.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... unsaun.:D

Centrinio waves his hand as her hand dissapeared in the horizon. He have a wide grin in his face like a child eating his first cone of icecream.

Juan Pedro: " Ey.. that girl is really something uh?"
Centrinio: "Yeah, you know what... when I first saw her, I though she is a goddess. Well, I never really saw a goddess before but if I will see one I imagined that she will look like her. She just summons the elements. My breathe gets lost in her beauty. I am helpless in her gaze. My mind cannot comprehend what my mind thinks. She is just amazing..."

Last night, in the CE fellowship, a brother in the Lord (which I considered used by God) told me about representing Christ and living the Bible. He said that those who know much about God and His Word are accountable for what they know. They are also accountable for the people that will stumble because of them. So it is important to live the Bible.

As far as I can remember, I seriously gave my heart to the Lord late 2001 but I had understand a lot about Christianity and relationship with Jesus prior to that year.
For a span of 4-5 years as a believer, it is only this day that I got a better understanding about being accountable to God with my actions. I begun to re-evaluate my actions and saw that people may have stumbled because of me. I have embraced the thought that God is forgiving so much that there are times that I compromise my testimony as a believer and have misrepresent Jesus to the people.

Those who have seen and experienced the light should not act as if they are still in darkness.
I am accountable.

As a balance to this thought, another brother (who again, I considered used by God) explained how we must not focus on a person since if we do this, it is very likely that we will stumble. We need to put our focus on God and not on men. Men will fail us, pastors will fail us, priests will fail us but God will never fail us.

In conclusion, as a believer, we are all accountable in our actions and we must see to it that we are not a stumbling block for other believer to grow but rather let us allow ourselves to be used by God to bless others. Also, we should not base our committment or faith to God in people, people are too imperfect to be a based on. They will fail us no matter how perfect they may look in the outside. They are just like us looking up to God for help. They also have issues and stuggles on their own. So as the Bible say, "We look unto Jesus the Auhtor and Finisher of our faith."

My afternoon was just terribly bad. Its amazing how something so small can change your day.
I lost my fone (actually just the SIM), a mad man dipped it in a glass of coke then twisted it.
I don't know how to feel with what happened. I was regretful, I guess. Grrr.....

Right now, I don't have any reason to smile. Will my life change? I don't know, I feelthe urge to just give up - drop everything off the bus. Haaaayyy....

This is my first negative post... I hope this will be the last.

Uhmm.. nothing really original today.
I'm just inspired with the song below and "touched" by the verse of Love. :-)

I can't think anything original so far. My girlfriend asked me to compose a song... how can I do that I don't even know how to play any musical instruments. Plus I haven't sung in public for awhile (except when feel like singing in the bathroom). :-)

I desire one thing as of this moment and that is to dwell in the courts of the Lord and stay in His presence.:-)

My prayer today:
Lord, guide my feet, guide my hand,
Let the words that comes out from my mouth be a blessing your name.
Change my heart and make me a blessing.
In Jesus' name.
Amen

1 Corinthians 13
Love
1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

"Hurting people alway hurt people." - Joel Osteen [Lakewood Church, Pastor]
"How people deals with us is just a reflection of how we see them." - John Maxwell [Developing the Leader within you, Author]

I always think of these statements whenever I realized I have insulted a person or rebelled against an authority. How we deal with situations in our lives reveals what is inside of us.

One person said that our horizontal dimension is just a reflection of our vertical dimension. So when I am very troubled, it is very likely that my vertical dimension is also troubled. That means my communication with God has been taken forgranted; that means I rarely or don't talk to God; that means, I have not been reading my Bible and have been pursuing my own flesh.

If I have an established communication with God, I realized that I have peace in the inside of me and I don't get rattled by the circumstances. I experienced problems but I feel confident that I have the Lord on my side. I know my prayers are heard and answered and my calls are not in vain. My pleas are considered.

What we show in the outside is a relfection of what is inside. What is inside is determined by our relationship with God.

The chronicler once wrote, "Friendship is priceless and friends doesn't have a price."
The scribe agrees and adds," Treasure them and choose them wisely."
"If they hurt you, forgive. If they turn their back on you, let go. If they walk away slamming every door that can be slammed, cheer for their return."

[The scribe remembers the chronicler.]

"One of the hardest fact for a Christian to comprehend is the fact that God loves him/her." - Darlene Zhchech (Shout to the Lord)

When I first realized that God, the creator of heaven and earth, is on my side and He is not against me and my concern is His priority, I cried, I repented, I broke down, my heart bowed down, I felt loved. Cared. A sense of peace and awe enveloped me. I heard a language that no word could speak - the language of Love.

Then, I sinned against God and somehow that sin placed a wall in between me and God. I feel that I cannot come to Him anymore. I feel that I need to be clean so that God can take me back to Himself. I cannot be clean and the more I tried to be clean the more I feel far from God. I can never say to God, "Lord, I am clean. Now, I can come back to you." Many times I thought, I can be worthy but I can never be worthy. Sin has overcame me everytime I try to be clean. Many times, I keep telling myself, I don't care if God loves me or not but I'm not really sure if I don't really care. I think I do care. I thought, "This life is worthless without God. I can go on existing but not really living. To live without meaning is not really living." Then I decided to come back and ask God's forgiveness. I cannot prove anything to God. I told the Lord, "I gave up. I have nowhere else to go. I have no one else to come to. And now I come to you."

Then the Lord smiled and told me, "My grace is enough. You don't have to work your way to Me. My grace has done that for you. I am here waiting for you. I still and will always love you."

Then I brokedown, and bowdown, and stood in awe of His mercy and forgiveness. My heart boweddown and my hands held high saying, "Forgive me...".

The first time I watched Disney's cartoon classic "Beauty and the Beast", I commented, "Oh come on... in reality nobody can love a beast". In my mind I know that people wants what is nice and pleasant and detest what is ugly.

But what if love can change all that? What if love causes other people to magnify on what is good, lovely, admirable and true in other people's lives while neglecting what is ugly and undesirable traits of a person.

What if the Beast writes a letter to Belle? How do you think it will go?
I imagined it will go this way:

Dear Belle,
I am a beast and many times I acted like a beast.
But still you loved me inspite of everything I've done.
I want you to know that because of your love, I became a man.
Loving you,
Beast - now a man.

At one point, I became a beast and my girlfriend remained the beauty.
Still she remained loving and inspite of everything I've done she loves me the same and because of that I became a man again.:)

There is a tale as old as time... and the tale lives on in the lives if those who loved and in those who didn't lost hope and kept on loving.

He who goes with the wise becomes wise but he who goes with the fools becomes fools.
Who are the fools?
Fools are the ones who says to their heart, "There is no God".
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Ergo, the fools are people who acts, decides, speaks, and communicate to other people as if there is no God.
Do not go with such people.
Stay away from these people.
Blessed is the man that walks in the counsel of the godly(wise) but the company of fools will lead to destruction.

"Who do you say I am?" There was a deep silence in the room. I imagine the disciples looking at Peter. I imagine Peter stuttering saying, "You...yo..u..arrre the..Messiah." (from Max Lucado's It's not about me.)

What if today we are asked the same question by Jesus, "Who do you say I am?". Who is Jesus for you? You see a lot of people see Jesus as a person, a philosopher, a married man, a fool, a man claiming to be God, a good teacher, a prophet, and etc. But how about you? Who is Jesus in for you? Is he just another name to remember in the history of man? Is he just another man? Or like Peter, is He your Messiah?

Who do you say Jesus is?

The tide has changed...
From an outward expresser to a silent artist.
From a vocal prophecy to a quite hope of the heart.
From an open writer to an exclusive scribe.

Is it better this way?
Like a child with an angst the scribe ask, "Is this the real me?"

The chronicler has put his pen down and said,
"I will write no more."

I learned from Pastor S.C. that when you close a door you don't slam it because you might need to walk through that the same door and you might not have any face to show.

That is why, you should not end any relationship with a bad memory because you might see this person in the future and you might need his/her help and you will not have any face to show to this person because of what you've done.

Two, three seconds and she already have at least five considerations of me:
how I look,
how I smell,
the clothes I wear,
the level of my aura,
the way I move.
And if she like me she will now be thinking of at least six things:
if I'm a possible mate,
if her friends would like me,
if I would be fun to go out with,
if she will be happier with me,
if I'm a funny person or a serious type,
if there will be a chance that she will get to know me.

This is what you get with one look from a lady in a jeepney.

The Ballad of My Life

If there is somebody, that I know, who believed and who has continued to believe that I am able to more than make it in this life, it is my girl -Joyce (aside form God, of course).

Somehow, God "blinded" her from my imperfections and gave her a magnifying glass to see my strengths. Let me rephrase it, God made her see beyond my imperfection and that allowed her to have a better view of my strengths. :-) Many times, I asked myself, what in the world did I gave her, for her to see me this way. This girl loves me and I don't know why.

It's really intersting how someone could loves you not because you look good, or you are rich, or you have a strong build, or athletic, or famous, or a good singer, or a crafty musician, or simply a good person; That person just love you because she loves you, thats it- ILLOGICAL but LOVELY!

You see, professional basketball players are paid to play ball. To some people, that is really illogical... while software programmers, like myself, burn my butt out to make a program work, these guys are just paid to have fun.- ILLOGICAL!! But if you are the basketball player- It's LOVELY!!! :-) In more like the same sense, I am like those basketball players, I am loved without burning my butt out- ILLOGICAL!!! but the thought that it actually is happening...it's LOVELY!!

Love is something so simple but complicated to explain.

You didn't get what I just said? Well you'll get it once you fall in love.:-)

The most exciting day of my week - Sunday!!!!

I love Sundays... I love just spending a day (actually just 2-3 hrs of the day) in my week where I just fellowship...meet new people...sing praise songs.. listen to a sermon... and so on in Jesus' name.:)

I've always been exicted and just loving the whole Sunday service. I love it.... One day in the house of the LORD is a thousand days elsewhere!

2 weeks more
I will soon come back to my homeland - Philippines!!!

So here are some of my thoughts for the last 6 weeks of my stay here.
Week 1
The travel was all thrills and I had a lot of AHA moments. I've meet new people from Lexington and Alabama. And everything was just a wow. Work was slow... but everything was just exciting.
Week 2
I had a terrible week. My emotion started to go down. I felt home sick and I felt that I had the longest week in my whole stay. I was just miserable and just missing my girlfriend. I am alone in the house and I have nothing to do. I mean, I had fun but it ain't seem good enough.
Week 3
I realized I should not be miserable and I felt that my emotion got out of control. It was just interesting, I kept myself busy - play sports...talk to people... and do just about anything.
Week 4 -6
I seemed to have stablized and I felt a sense of smallness. I felt that I was humbled by the fact that what I have isn't something to be proud of. Literally... there is nothing I can be proud of except the fact that I came from a good family and I was raised well by my mother and sisters.
Everythings was just a collection of awe. I felt a sense of gratitude to the LORD for bringing me here and for the blessings poured into my life.

What's the significance in this piece of meat? Well, this is the first food I cooked here not counting rice and bacon.:)

I have tried cooking before but its been a long time since I cooked.

So let me share you some cooking tips for beginners.
1. Get your hands to work.
This is the first tip to cook. Just do it.
2. Believe that what your cooking is edible.
As long as you don't put anything poisonous in the pan you should be alright.
3. Seasonings.
What seasonings? Don't worry about it. They are just there to add coloring to the food. Kidding! :) If you have a ready made seasonning just pour them in the food and it should be OK.
4. Follow the courtroom rules.
Always have Exhibit A and exhibit B. Meaning, divide the food in at least 2 parts, and put different amount of seasonnings in them. This will make sure you hit the right taste.
5. Low is good.
Set stove fire release to LOW. This will avoid the food to be overcooked.
6. Pray.
Pray that it will taste OK.
7. Make sure that the food is thoroughly cooked.
If it's meat, make sure that you will not see anything colored red.
8. When everything is done, enjoy the food as much as you can.:)

If you think cooking is not for you, try ordering from a fast food or try buying cooked food.

As I have already said, just do it and you should be OK.

Study shows
I remember reading something about a study conducted not so long ago about the odds that a male human being would pick female mates who looks like their mother. And they found a high percentage (not sure probably 90-99%) of their sample population who pick ladies who looks like their mother. They found this also true for females. Females tend to favor males who looks like their father. :)

There is a related study where their sample space are males and they let these males see pictures of women one of which is a female version of themselves. They found that high percentage of guys considers the female version of themselves as attractive. They theorized that males are narcist. They also found this true for females.:)

Point being?
I have heard of statements like, "hey your wife looks like you?". Or "your boyfriend looks like your father" Or "He is a female version of her". And it made me think that probably studies like the once I've mentioned before have some point; That we, men really prefer women who looks like us or who looks like our mother.:) This might also be true for women. :)

Practical Application
Does Joyce looks like me? Uhmmmm... I done think so.:) But I have heard few people comment that they thought she is my longer sister; Thus connotes resemblance. (??????). Does she look like my mother? Definitely not.

Do I look like Joyce's father? Uhmmm.. I heard 2-3 people say so.(?????).

I leave that in your skull.:)

Picture of the week
Birds like this is commonly seen here nesting. I noticed that they started appearing when spring started. They just nest on this lamps outside the houses in the Inn.

What's in for today?

It's Sunday!!! And I'm very excited cz it's church time.:) I like the church here, it's much like Praise Cathedral, only bigger and the service is short. Bigger doesn't mean better though. But I feel like this is the church I feel connected to in Lx, KY.:)

I basically stayed all afternoon in my room. I tried sleeping and watching TV (Oh!! what an unhealthy lifestyle). I dont feel like I'm getting fat though but it's unhealthy and I need to exercise.

I had the pleasure of watching NBA playoffs live - in TV.:) T'was cool... I enjoyed games of Kings vs Spurs and Cleveland vs Washington. :) I don't have any plan of watching the real game.... TV is enough for me. :)

It's a psycho thing... baby!!
It's interesting that I no longer feel "home sick" this week. It seems that knowing that I feel that I got "home sicked" make me feel that I should not feel home sicked.

I still miss home and my family though. I still miss my girlfriend. I still miss the people that I used to hang around with.

I just learned that people can get "winter depression" here. I am observing my emotion and see what changed and what adjustments I should take. In my situation right now, I need to be on top of my emotions and not just allow it guide me. :) I'm sure if I'm going to do that, I would avoid being depressed and get nuts.

Weather you like it or not.
It's showering here and its a bit cold. The temperature is 54 F = 12.223 C but its cool I can take the temperature. It's my kind of weather only that the rain would stop.:)

We just came from a moviehouse and watched the movie, Silent Hill. When I was about to buy the ticket, the lady asked me for an ID. Then, I remembered that this movie is Rated R. I checked my wallet for an ID and found my SSS ID. I gave it to the lady and she was looking for my birthdate. I pointed to the date below my name and told her, "That's my birthday, right there." Then she said,"That's your birthday? Oh my god...". I said, "Why? Do I look younger?". "Yeah, you look like you are...(forgot what she said but surely it sounds like I look like I was born way earlier than the date she saw in my ID :))" replied the lady. All I can respond is, "Well, thank you!" with a wide grin in my face.I really look younger than most of the people of my age here. My sister's sister in-law told me,"You're Jacky's brother? Well, you look like a very young man." Hehehe... all I can say is that..."Well, thank you." with a wide grin.:)

Somebody told me that she is blessed because some people just dreamed to be where and what she is right now. We'll, I am blessed. I am here in this good country enjoying the benefits and all the good stuffs provided for me. I know a lot of people would die to be here. Some people lie, cheat, risk their lives just to be here. And in that light, I should be grateful that I have this opportunity at this stage of my life.

My point is, I think I should have all these in mind because many times, I don't feel good being here. I can't be myself... and I am away from the people who really care for me. Call it drama or OA... whatever.. you can think whatever you like to think... I don't care.

Being here is like being suspended in the air in the middle of the river, you cannot go back and you cannot move on. It's probably part of the adjustment. I am adjusting emotionally and somehow it's hard for me to get over it. It's like I left 3/4 of me from where I came from. Breathing is not as easy as before..it's like a part of me has been torned and now I am only half the man that I used to be. DRAMA.

You probably heard of the story of a mother and her two sons : one, an optimist and the other one, a pessimist. In the story the mother brought here kids to a farm with two barns to observe her kids. She placed the pessimist in a barn filled with toys. The boy just went in and examine the toys and said,"Hmmm.. toys? Something is not right." The other boy, the optimist, was placed in a barn filled with horse's feces. The boy jumped to the feces and said, "Wow, horse's feces there has to be a horse in here."

Many times, we need to be like that of the optimist boy; We need to look for a horse in every situation. We need to look for good things and choose to look at them instead of looking at the feces. When our friends starts to stink, we need to look for a horse in them. When our situation gets undesirable, we need to look for the horse that makes us ride with the tide of discomfort.
You might ask, what if there is really no horse? We'll let me ask you, have you really looked for it?

Why am I saying this? Probably because, I feel like I am in a barn filled with feces right now... it's stinky and I am starting to complain. I need to look for the horse in my situation today. I need to open my eyes and look for that one good thing. I have read a statement that says something like this,"People can make a thousand excuses why they can't do what they are asked to do but they only need one good reason why they should do it." I can make thousands of good excuses why I should not be happy here and I can make thousands of complain to make myself feel bad being here but I only need to look for one good horse in the barn to choose to be happy.

Frankly speaking, I am not in the barn of horse feces and the horses here are not very hard to find(Lexington of the horse capital in the world.:p )but my attitude made a hell out of this very nice place. I begin to understand a bit that our situation can change depending on our attitude. Our outlook in life will determine how the world will look like. OS if we have a bad outlook, we are most likely feeling that we are in a bad place.

The Lord Jesus Christ wants me to be happy, He placed me here to enjoy His blessings. I don't want to miss the horse that God wants me to find here. Now, it's time to look for the horse!

"Hubagang ate oi... " I asked someone here what hubag means, and he said that it's a slang term for "pretty".

Hmm.. my girlfried says it means "big boobs". My friend says its big butt.

So which is which? beautiful? big boobs? big butt?

Hubag is swelling in English so it should mean something is swelling.

To say, "hubag kaayu ka" means... you are so swelling... swelling what? where?

when you say that a girl is hubag... should the girl be flattered or not?

One thing I can say, I can't tell my girlfriend that she is hubag to flatter her. For one, it's soooo unromantic. Secondly, it's sound disrespectful to the ladies.

Yeah, we have our own choice in using words but for this one, count me out.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of listening to a bunch of married guys talking about their experiences with having a baby. The conversation flowed from childbirth to basic experiences. Some of them said they were really interesting and funny. A father in the group said that the perfect word to describe his situation when he was with his wife during chilbirt is INTENSE. He said everything was just so intense and the pressure in the operating room was just boiling up. I could just imagine, watching a person I love, trying to cross from life to death so that life could be born into this world.:) There were so many things they said that I can consider precious coz I really learned a lot of things about childbirth and rearing kids.:)

No... I'm not getting married yet..:) I still want to prove something to myself.:)
The truth is, when those men talked about family... I began to think about me and Joyce. I mean I begun to miss her more..:) Corny, but if you are in my situation: you have a great girlfriend (not to mention very beautiful and sexy) and you are a bazzillion miles away from each other and time seems to pass sooooo slowly, you would feel the same way.:)
That's all for now...:)

Notes

Looong hours
I've been here in the US for almost 2 weeks but it feels like I've been here more than that. I feel that I've been here for a very long time. I am probably to attached to the people I cared so much in the Cebu that I feel time is just slowing down.I really miss my girlfriend..:(....

Radio program
I always listen to positve and encouraging KLOVE radio station. Sometimes I jam alone in my room. Speaking of alone, I heard a preacher last Sunday said that we were never alone bcause the devil was always been with us.:) That's sounds funny. I think he is right in saying that. Before God found us, we were the son of the devil but God saved us and now the LORD is always with us... but I think the devil never went away even though God is with us. The Bible says that Satan is an accuser of the saints.

Sing the sermon
BTW, I joined a fellowship in a church in Lexington called the first Alliance church and last Sunday, I went to a church in Alabama and it was cool cz it was my first time to be in an African-American service, and the pastor sung 50% of the sermon.:)

Almost 23 hrs of flying, 8 hours of waiting, 4 airplanes, 3 big bags, 2 travellers, 1 shamrock box and a partridge in a pear tree and I'm finally in Lexington!!!!

I know this post is already 5 days late but I guess I have chronicle this event in my life. A lot of things that happened to me, happened to me for the first time. So if I will be asked, "First time mo?", I will gladly say,
YES!.:) I am very please with what happened, Glory to God!

All I can say is, I am not where I am today (as in the literal - today) because I am smart or because I am good looking, or because I performed well in life or because of what I have done but it is all because of what the Lord did for me; it is because of the favor of God hovering around me. Looking back, I could honestly say, that every breakthrough I got is from the Lord and from no one else. Glory to God! So I am sure that my future victories and breakthroughs will still come from the Lord. In this post, I give back the glory to the Lord.
