Calamity and Opportunity

One person sees something as a calamity and another person comes and see that very same thing as an opportunity.
The difference between the two person:
1. Choice
2. Readiness to see something as it is.
Choice
We can understand choice. We can choice to see anything as how we want to see it.
Readiness
One person sees something such as a market crash as an opportunity plainly because that person is ready to see it as such. Our previous experience helps us to see things differently. When I was still in college I was presented with an opportunity to start exploring the business world. When I saw the money requirement - P800, I got cold feet (I can only afford P200 :D) and started rejecting the idea of pursuing the opportunity. If I have pursued that opportunity I would have grown in the knowledge of handling personal finance. Another experience that I can remember was, when I was in college I was asked to go to the camp but the registration fee is P3, 600. Again, I can only afford way less than the amount so I just drop the idea of going. Now, I see many young people in the church selling/making money just to go to the camps. I realized I was not ready so I made a poor choice in not stretching and taking up the challenge. Have I choose to see it as an opportunity then I would have grown mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. And I would say that these young people who financed their way to the camps are in better position than I was because they stepped up.

My friend, Gay, showed me the picture in the left. That was taken during my first few months (around August of 2004) in LXK (Cebu). The other one was taken December 23, 2006.
The difference is a bit dramatic. :) So.. Praise God... He has been good and had blessed me of a sexier body almost 3 years ago. :)
I have to admit... I just realized I looked like a stick in my picture in the left. :)

That's me in blue sleeveless with my camp buddies. The camp was just amazing, it helped me re-align my goal. I began to look at my goal in a different way. I also began to see God bigger than before. I began to see God's plan for my life in a different light. I can say I have matured in a way that I became patient on things.
Two things I really appreciate in the camp: (aside from the sessions and food)
1. Coffee with C.E guys and Pastor Noel. - I learned a lot. The conversation turned out to be full packed of practical insights gained by my fellow C.E. buddies. We sort of integrate what we caught in the camp and reflected it on how we applied those principles in the camp. One person shared about the "sachet" and how it reflects to our lives. I now look at sachets differently. :D Pastor Noel also shared to us some insights.. I just wished we had more time talking.
2. Banana boat ride. - I was just excited to ride that thing. :D We fell down thrice- twice in the middle of the sea and once when we are about to stop the ride. We purposely turn the boat upside down while it is running. :) And to be there in the middle of the sea (floating) with sea water in your throat and nose is just so exciting. I mean, I don't experience those stuffs everyday. :)

The CAT who JUMPS to a HOT stove

I've read a story of a cat who jumped to a hot stove, the cat got hurt and since then the cat never jumped to any hot stove again. But you know what, the cat won't jump to any cold stove either. Sa Bisaya pa, "natagam ang iring".
I heard stories like this happen in real life: a person gets disappointed with another person and that person would never take a step near that person. I believe that's where the quote, "ni anino nya any ayaw kunang makita!" came from.
I see this story come alive in my friends lives and before, in my life. I used to get easily disappointed and the normal stimulus to disappointments is to withdraw from whatever it is that causes pain. If we happen to touch a hot stove we quickly (without thinking) take away our hands off the hot stove. In the same way, I "withdraw" myself to pain. Or should I say I withdraw myself to things that I perceived as the one causing pain. Until I realized that doing that hinders me from growing and maturing as a person. Instead of using pain as a tool for growth, I began to make wrong associations to pain. And this caused me to go back from where I started - the rut. I call the whole process of pain and withdrawal (no learning) as the "rut race".
One person telling me, "Jo, I would not love again... it's too painful.. my last boyfriend.. blah blah blah.." And she just had all the reasons why she would never invest her heart to another person.
One author said that in business we need to "practice disappointment". And I believe we should practice "handling disappointment" in life too. One thing I know, we will always be disappointed. One author said it this way,"in one way or another, no matter how well you play the game there are really times that someone will drop the ball and you will lose the game". In a way, the author said, in one way or another no matter how well you do things one person will disappoint you. So when you get disappointed... all I can say is "welcome to life".
Our ability to handle disappointments in life determines in our maturity as a person. If you are like the cat who jumped to a hot stove... make sure you associate the "hotness" to pain rather than the stove to pain.

I got this article from a man I really admire. I want to make an article like this one but I just want to share this text and hopefully it will challenge us to stretch. I believe in my heart that as follower of the Lord Jesus Christ we need to stretch. Here is the article by Jim Rohn:

Is it okay to take a bath after an exercise?

I was worried that I might damage my body of some sort if I keep on taking a bath after exercise/playing basketball/doing any sweat producing activity. I asked our company nurse (twice) and she told me its OK as long as I wait for 30 mins after exercise. I asked my sister and she said it's OK as long as I wait for 10 mins after exercise. I've thought of asking a doctor and figured I just surf and see if somebody have same delima. I google-searched and found Q and A with Tina Juan ( a renowned fitness trainer). She quite famous in the Philippines and is hosting a fitness portion of a morning show in a local channel. So here is her answer:

Yes, it is all right to take a bath after exercise. I am assuming of course that you will go through a proper cool-down period so you are not taking a bath with your heart beating wildly. Warm or cool water is fine. According to phlebologists (doctors who specialize in veins), there is no connection between taking a bath and varicose veins. The tendency to develop varicose veins is one that you inherit.

This particular one seems to be a homegrown myth. I have yet to meet a Westerner concerned about how long they should wait before taking a bath after exercise because of 'pasma'. It could be an Asian belief but the Asian fitness professionals I have spoken to haven't encountered this 'problem' with their clients. How can this belief get in the way of fitness success? Easy. By becoming the reason why some people don't exercise. It goes something like this: "I can't exercise because I have to take a bath right after to make it to the office on time". If you cool down properly after exercise, meaning your heart rate and breathing rate return to normal and you spend about five minutes stretching (in other words, relaxing), there should be no reason why you cannot hop under a shower.

Let me share to you what I learned and re-learned lately...
I hope I can add value to you..
Just read on even if you don't agree with them...
1. The Bible is a partly a collection of biographies that says examples and warnings. Like Samson is a warning, meaning do not follow Samson. Be teachable.
And David is both an example and a warning. We need to follow David's heart and the way he honors God in his life. But not follow him in his adultery. Samuel is an example. Job is an example. What we can also learn from this is that when somebody writes about your life, make sure it is an example and not a warning.
2. Jesus Christ have RADICAL teachings. Some of you probably know this but I just noticed it.:D Imagine he told the people who is used to in following the "eye for an eye law" to give their left cheek when their right cheek is slapped. He teaches us to love our enemies and to pray for them but at the same time he calls the Pharisees and religious leaders of their time - VIPERS. I'm not sure what exactly it meant but noticed the contrast and between the two and it will bring in the meaning of this teachings.
3. Pay Yourself 10%.
Save 10% of your income. Of course give the TITHE since it is holy unto God. 10% will go a long way.
4. Make you develop the skills needed for you to move in life.

"I told you not to shout. Why are you shouting? I am going to spank you." I said in a calm yet tough voice.
My kid is now 3 years old. I never knew what it's like to be a dad. I don't know if I've been a good example. What I know is that I did great mistakes in helping 2 of my other kids. I've been really hard on them and I want to make it right this time. I don't want to be lenient but I don't want to be too strict either. I want them to grow with the best in the world.
So there I was talking to my 3-year-old and telling him not to shout. "Sit down and lets talk.",I told him. He sat down and then suddenly his eyes got watery and his lips and breathe brought out a slight cry. I kept my composure and asked him, "How old are you?" He raised his right hand and raised three of his fingers and bended the other two. "Three, you are three years old and you are still shouting? No you are big enough and you need to stop shouting. Do you understand?", I asked him. He said no. "OK. You see shouting and demanding from you mom, aunt and granny is not good.". He gave a slight cry again this time his little face is now wet with tears. I told him, "Daddy loves you OK? And he doesn't want you to shout because it's not right. I know you are excited but you don't have to shout." I hugged him and pat his back. His mom then told him to say sorry to me. He just cried and hugged me. I hugged back and told him everything is alright. I asked him to wipe his face and he wiped it with his shirt and asked him if he wants ice cream. He nodded and with a face of relief.
Moments later he was talking to me as if we never had the conversation we had. He is just lovely. I will do it right this time. I will discipline but never forget that I love this kid. :D

Everything in Perspective

Somebody sent me an email with these pictures on it...
.... it's just amazing isn't it?
Sometimes we think that we are big enough...
When in fact, if we look at this in the universal perspective.. we are just a minute voice.. in small planet.
Sometimes we think our problems and concerns are too big to handle..
When in fact... our situation is just an occurrence in this vast universe. And comparing it to the timeline of God, our lifetime are but a breathe of air.
Today, I am sitting in my cubicle.. facing my computer and typing the words that came out from mind. Outside this cubicle are other people who have different concerns and cries bigger than my cries. Within this city are people who are facing far greater dilemma that I ever could face.
Within my country, are people who are facing issues and problems I could never imagine what. Beyond this world.. who knows...
.... it's just amazing isn't it?

Donald Trump - I just finished season 2 of The Apprentice. I know... I was a bit late in watching knowing that the show is now on it's 6th season and rolling but I just got hold of the DVD of the show. I am now on it's 3rd season and hopefully it will be as fun and as unpredictable as season
2. I would say, that one feature if this show to watch Donald Trump fire the contestants. It was just fun to watch. It's like giving a grade of F+ to college students. I am not a Donald Trump fan but I think I am a fan of the show. :)

2 things (part 2)

I watched second season of The Apprentice last night and in one of the episodes, Donald Trump rewarded the one team to meet New York City's mayor (I forgot his name). One of the contestants says this guy (the mayor) is one of the people that brought NY for what it is today. I don't know how true is that statement but he (the mayor) did commanded respect from the contestants. He said something like this, "To be a leader you need to be respected." And on his office is a statement that says," I AM RESPONSIBLE".
I reflected on those two things:
1. To be a leader you need to be respected.
2. I AM RESPONSIBLE.
To be a leader you need to be respected.
To be a leader is to have follower(s). One person says, "One test if you are a leader is to look behind you and see if somebody is following you. And if no one is following you that means you are not a leading, you are merely taking a walk." For people to follow you, you need to be respected. Of course it is possible for people to follow you without respect - thru fear. But that's another subject. As what I've said, without respect people will have a hard time following a leader. The lowest form of respect is respect because of a person's position/rank in life. [ need to add more here...]
I AM RESPONSIBLE.
This is one of the most powerful statements in life. A lot of people (including myself) tend not to take responsiblity of what is happening in their lives. They blame people, government, taxes, life, God, and others but themselves. To say that "I am responsible" is to say declare that that person has reached a level of maturity to take resposiblity of what's going on. It is good to note that the statement says, "I AM RESPONSIBLE" and not "I AM REACTIBLE". To be responsible means to be RESPONSE-able. To respond means to use intellect as oppose to REACT-able which is triggered by emotion. [need to add more here..]

A walk to remember

To dream is one of the most wonderful gifts God has given us. It is free and it is unlimited. Sad to say, I know a lot of people (sometimes even myself) who put a limit on their dreams. They might have reasons as to why but I think that to limit our dream of what we will become is like a slap in the face to our Creator,who created us to be not less than the best.
I believe God created all of us with the best version of us in His mind. He didn't create some of us to be best and some to be not so best and some to be not best. God is not a mediocre and He did not made any mistake when He created us. So, if you dream for something lower than what is the best, I think it's better to stop dreaming at all. Stop dreaming because it is not pleasing God.
If we dream, why not dream for the best? Why not dream for the stars? Why limit our capicity when in fact God created us to reach the top of our potential. Instead of saying, "Lord, all I want is not only get by and eat three times a day and I'll be OK."No, God wants you to be more than OK. God wants you flourish. God wants the best for His children.
I think we should be good stewards of dream. So lets keep our hopes up. Keep the faith that God can move the mountain for you and for me. Dream... believe... and not just survive but live. Live in a life of faith. You see, the Bible says that it is impossible to please God without faith. So just keep on activating your faith. And when you dream, close your eyes. Don't rely on the natural but look at things through the eyes of faith.. look at the supernatural. One song says that we need to walk by faith and not by sight so when things go wrong you will know that it will be alright.
Dream in faith and you will be more than alright.

I believe God created all of us with the best version of us in His mind. He didn't create some of us to be best and some to be not so best and some to be not best. God is not a mediocre and He did not made any mistake when He created us. So, if you dream for something lower than what is the best, I think it's better to stop dreaming at all. Stop dreaming because it is not pleasing God.
If we dream, why not dream for the best? Why not dream for the stars? Why limit our capicity when in fact God created us to reach the top of our potential. Instead of saying, "Lord, all I want is not only get by and eat three times a day and I'll be OK."No, God wants you to be more than OK. God wants you flourish. God wants the best for His children.
I think we should be good stewards of dream. So lets keep our hopes up. Keep the faith that God can move the mountain for you and for me. Dream... believe... and not just survive but live. Live in a life of faith. You see, the Bible says that it is impossible to please God without faith. So just keep on activating your faith. And when you dream, close your eyes. Don't rely on the natural but look at things through the eyes of faith.. look at the supernatural. One song says that we need to walk by faith and not by sight so when things go wrong you will know that it will be alright.
Dream in faith and you will be more than alright.

WANTS not CRAVING
I want to make another poem or a song....
I'm just a bit uninspired to write one..:(
I want to bring up my created juice to a level of overflow and hopefully...
I can create a poem that will make other people laugh..
Or an atricle that will make people think.
I want to go to Doulos but I find it hard to find the time. Doulos will leave on the 19th so I should be on a schedule going to Pier 1 ASAP.
BAD HABIT
I am developing a bad habit of coming to the office late. I need to stop. Tomorrow, I will try to pull all what I can pull to be early.

La Chi' is another reason to be excited. I'm excited to talk to clients and etc.. (secret).:-)
It's almost there and I just hope the team can stand higher than anybody's level of expectation.

Foxsports is now blocked in my company...
too bad.. NBA is the only news I read.
ESPN.com offers almost the same thing but I still like foxsports.
Anyway, I've been really occupied lately. There are a lot of things that kept me busy. Today, my life is a bit slow and I am hoping that it will go to fasttrack soon. Speaking of fasttrack, I just got a copy of CashFlow 101 E-game and I have it for sale. You will enjoy it. :)
Hmmm.. updates? I'm thinking of having my own website and just put all the things I have for sale there: web development, security gadgets, call center softwares and etc.
Speaking of websites.. www.LaChiExports.com is coming and it's pretty exciting to finally see it launched.
I pray that God will use this site to be a blessing to La Chi'. This is another step forward for La Chi. And when all things are in motion there will be a rush in Jesus' name!

I am a monster..
Everyday.. I beat myself up coz of that fact...
I am a fake..
Somehow, I want to believe that I am real..
That I am one of the good guys..
But I am not..
I am no better than anyone else..
I blamed myself for what happened to us..
And losing you is the stupidiest thing I did...
Somehow I don't want to be justified..
I want to be beatten up...
I thought the monster inside me is dead...
But it's still alive..waiting for the perfect moment to get loose...
I heard Pastor Sumrall said to the pastors, "One day, you will wake up and said some thing to somebody that you will regret." Even though I am not a pastor I feel that what he said spoke to me. I said some things I never should have said. I released words I never should have released. I surrendered myself completely to rage... now.. I lost it. Everyday, I beat myself up. And when I read the Bible I feel so stupid. I feel like it mentioned me. I want to stop reading and stay away from God coz I am not worthy. I just feel like a fake every single time I read it. But then I thought... Who is worthy? No one is worthy... we all need God. I don't have to let myself loose to stupidity again. Pastor Sumrall added, "You are human." Yes, I am human. I make mistakes and if I won't learn from this.. I will be like Samson..I will surely fail.

1. Do not confuse the process with the people.
Sometimes we tend to sacrifice the person just because we want to stick to the process even though we know that something is wrong with the process. The person is, many time, more important with the process. One good example of this is when we dined at a fastfood in Cebu. There were six of us trying to fit ourselves in a table for four people. We don't have much of a choice, the store only caters for groups of four and we need to be together since it was our working lunch. After taking our orders, we sat the down and talk about what we are about to do. When our food was served, a crew of that fastfood has the stomach to tell us to remove the extra chairs we had because it will block the aisle. I look around and nobody was there except our group; We are the only customer of the store at that time. So I reprimanded him and told him where will he put the group in such a way that we will not block the aisle. He did not responded instead he grab the chair and asked us to move. WOW!!! So I went in under his skin and give him a piece of my mind. What I thought at that moment is that after ordering food from them and paying for the place, he has now the stomach to correct us without even giving us an alternative solution to our problems. He confused the rightness of the procedure with the customer. He forgot that the customer is always right.
2. Don't confuse people with tools.
Never refer to one person as a tool. Because he is not a tool, he is a being. I hate it when some people refer to somebody as a tool. I feel that it is such a disrespect to the God who created that person. I have an example about this but I will not write it.
3. Exercise the power of choice.
This is a very relative statement. If you are a dictator then you don't give a damn about choice. What you probably want is for people to obey you whether or not they want to. Choice is a power given to us by God. Like all powers it can be used and abused. In any institution where freedom of choice is advocated, people there is has no right whatsoever to dictate choices of other people, esp if the choice is between two good things. Dictators don't belong to a these kind of institution. They just don't mix. Rebellion is not even needed to overthrow dictators because the system will overthrow the dictator itself. Free choice and forced choice just don't mix.

Love re-written

"I don't like you...", she told me straight in my face. "Just forget it.. don't even wait.", she added. I let out a slight grin and said, " then.. OK.. let's just be friends then. OK?". "OK.", she said. I know that was not going to be the last time that I will tell her how special she is for me. She was just 15 years old and it was just months since I celebrated my 21st birthday. We hang-out a lot; Just talk about anything - music, love, politics, religion, human rights, and so on and so forth.
Before that conversation took place I already determined in my heart that I am ready for whatever she will say. If she rejects me then it's worth it. Somebody so special should be worthy of hurting me emotionally. I won't regret being rejected by somebody so special to me. So there I was.. letting out that slight smile that might changed the mood of the situation. The next night, we spoke again as if I never told her that I love her and I want her to be my girl the previous night. This probably came in as a surprise to her but I was not going to allow it put a gap between us. If I can't have the girl then I want the friend. That night, I am ready to be just a friend.
One day, she told me that she likes the song, "I could sing of Your Love" by Sonicflood so what I did was I went to a friend and asked him to help me play that song using a guitar. She is musically inclined so I am planning to impress her by playing that song using her guitar (I don't own a guitar but she does). If you know me personally I can't even play a "cling-clang". I mean I don't play any musical instrument but I sing. And I found my voice to be OK. So I thought, if I can just learn a bit of strumming and sing at the same time then I should be able to pull this amazing feat of playing a guitar. And so there I was playing and practicing one single song - I could sing of you love. My friend didn't asked why I want that song, he just showed me how to do it. I practiced for about 2-3 Saturdays. After feeling a little bit of confidence... I feel that I am now ready to present this amazing act of playing the whole song.
So I went to her.. chitchat a bit. Then asked for the guitar and started playing the song that she like.:D I know I was not impressive but I think I was able to pull it off. You know why? Because she sang with me!!! hehehehe... yeah she sang with me.."Over the mountains and the sea.. Your river runs with love for me.." hehehe... she sang with me. :)

He wrote about worship which I really miss doing. I mean I do worship God but I want more. I'm hungry and thirsty and I just want to cry and laugh in His presence. I miss doing all those things. I miss our [me and Jesus] intimate time together. I mean I miss it and I became a bit hard-hearted because its been a long time since I really had a sprit to spirit encounter with God. It's been a long time since I had a "burning bush" experience with God. Today I had a bit but I want more. I want more of His presence and just want to experience more of God.
I want to see His Word leap out of the pages of the Bible once again. I want to experience Him again and again.. until, like the bush, I get burned. I want to be burned again by the holy fire of God. I want to melt the man in me. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about but I hope you do.

Trust Transfer

Last night, my media friends talk about becoming a faithful employee. And we talk about different work issues and our dreams about building our own company. I realized I was not alone in these issues. I saw similar patterns of conflict of interests, faith, doubts, fears, desires, hopes, and many more. Somehow, when I think about it, I known these guys for a long time yet I realized I have not really know them that much. I mean, there are just too many things to discover from one person.
The old woman in the movie Titanic said, “ A woman’s heart is an ocean of many secrets.” And I believe every man has an ocean of many secrets and desires and when you get together with one person and they sort of trust you with a pail of some of their heart's contents. And you also have the honor to trust them back with a pail of yours.:)
When I was still courting my girlfriend, I remember a time when she would not give me any hint if she feels the same way unless I give her some of my feelings.:) So when I told her how much I like her she sort of said, “You are OK”. :) And that is how we progressed; I trust her with my feelings and she trust me with hers.
And it’s more like the same with these media friends- give and take. I’m honored to be trusted with some of their dreams and to trust them my dreams is just awesome.:)

Work, Money, and the E Quadrant

According to Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad Series, there are four types of people in the world: Employee (E Quadrant), Self-Employed (S Quadrant), Business Owner (B Quadrant), and Investors (I Quadrant).
If you read his book, the main criterion of the how a person belong a particular group, whether the person is an employee or self-employed or a business owner or an investor is dependent on where his income came from. If the person's income is from a company where the person is working then he belongs to the E Quadrant. This is the same for other groups and you can read the details in his books.
But do you know that there is such a thing as an E mindset?
If you read his book, the main criterion of the how a person belong a particular group, whether the person is an employee or self-employed or a business owner or an investor is dependent on where his income came from. If the person's income is from a company where the person is working then he belongs to the E Quadrant. This is the same for other groups and you can read the details in his books.
But do you know that there is such a thing as an E mindset?
You can be an employee but your mindset is of those of a business owner or an investor. If you work for money then you have an employee mindset. Kiyosaki said, "The rich don't work for money, money works for them." "Work to learn, don't work for money."
If you work for money that means you have a price. But that should not be so because you are priceless. You are there to learn and the best way to learn is to work it yourself. It's easy to spot those with an employee mindset, just listen to the words they often say. If they talk about the benefits, or bigger pay, or the security, that person more likely has an employee mindset. Ussually the statements goes like this, "Well, I like going to company A since they pay much higher than my current company plus they have good benefits." Or you might hear something like this," Oh well, they are not getting me to do what they want until I get my increase." Or something like, "If the company only pays me this much then I will perform better." Or something like, "I am secure in this company because I have these benefits." Or "Are the benefits in Company A bitter than our company?" If you hear words like that froma person then that person has an E mindset. They based their prosperity, security and their financial promotion in what other people can provide for them.
While being in the E Quadrant is not bad, having an E mindset is really not smart. I believe that having an E mindset hinders intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. Why? Because if you have an E mindset then you have a false sense of security because your security is based in what other people will give you. Because it makes a person feel motivated to go an extra mile (in his/her career life) only if the company or the boss is giving the person the money he/she wants. Because the person now finds security on man and close his/her mind on what God can do.

Hi,
It's been awhile since I've written something in this blog.:-)
I really want to write but I can't seem to find the right time to do it.
Yesteryday was Joyce's (my dear girlfriend) birthday.
She just turned 19 and we will be celebrating our 3rd year of being together next month.
I should say it's been quite a challenge to make it this far.:-)
We had a lot of adjustmentsand every month we overcome challenges and encounter new adjustments.
I know a lot of guys want to be in my place and be her guy and I recognize that and I'm very proud of it.:-)
However most of them didn't know its tough.
I'm just thinking of all the conflicts we had as a workout for our future.
There is more to come as we continue growing in each others shoes. :-)
I'm excited in a way since we really compliment each other.
You know, the more she grow the more she becomes prettier and prettier.
And the more I was her weaknesses, the more I realized that I really love her.:-) Char!

Manny Pacquiao

Today, the Philippines got excited for the fight of Manny Pacquiao against Erik Morales. Most of the people around me are talking about it since yesterday. I got excited myself, truly, whether I like it or not, Manny is in a way fighting for every Filipino. His victory is the victory of every single Filipino. Every punch that he throws is a punch thrown for every single Filipino.
I am not much of a boxing fan but somehow the Manny mania got me into it. I look forward to his fight and feel proud for his every victory.:)
I believe that this is what one of the things the Philippines need. We need to know that inside every Filipino is the capacity to be a great person.
Indeed, God created every single one of us for greatness.

Burning passion

Have you ever experienced loving something/someone to the point that youwill agree to tear yourself apart for that love?
Right now... i just felt that kind of breaking feeling.
It's like its too much... and you come to God and tell Him, "iehfhufhewrhqwjdlwa"because you have no word to describe how you feel.
Your mind cannot fully grasp it...
Your breathing is like.. from life to death...
Your whole being is utterly consumed by your passion...
You are teared from left to right..and from right to left...
You cannot sleep with excitement..
You feel that you don't need food to eat because you are always full..
Even in silence the noise of that love will not cease..
And deep down inside you know that... you know that... you know that unless you act
On that passion.. you will continuously get stirred to the point that it becomes very painful..

Two Wednesdays ago Pastor Noel talked about when we are in the crossroads of our lives.
He said, "When you are in the crossroads in your life, remember these two things:
1. Time is runnning out.
2. You are born for something bigger."
Realization:
Time is running out. - It's a waste of time to be depressed or to be discouraged.
There is a whole world out there that needs me to fight back. There are so much more to
live for and be happy. Instead of being depressed I will choose to be happy. Instead of
being discourage, I will fight back discouragement and move forward to what God has tasked me to do.
I will not allow myself to go into the rut. I will rise up to the challenge. I will be what God whats me to be
in Jesus' name!
You are born for something bigger. - I am not just born to fart and die. I am here because God has a purpose for my life.
While there are many people who missed their life's purpose, I will be different, I will not allow myself to miss it.
I will be used of God and I will not waste what God has invested on me. I will be what God wants me to be.

The verses above says that our health and our spirit may fail us and grow weak but God will remain to be the strength in our hearts. Today, remember, God is the strength of your heart. You can say that personally out loud! God is the strength of my heart!
God is the strength of your heart. When you feel down, you will rise up because God is the strength of your heart. When you feel like giving up you will have courage because God is the strength of your heart. When all hopes seemed gone, you will have a renewed hope because God is the strength of your heart. When your future seems unclear, you will will not faint or fear but you will have strong conviction that God is in control because God is the strength of your heart.

I just noticed that the new blogspot works closer to a word processor.
It actually highlights a text if it is misspelled.:-)
Anyway, I'm blogging while waiting for Justice League movie in youtube to fully load.
It's really fun looking in to these movies.
I don't have cable to I just watch it over the internet.
Today, I had a choice to program or read book.
I choose neither, I choose watching movie - bad.:-D
Two days a go I started watching this new series titled, "Heroes".
It's like X-men but the powers are different and the presentation is different.
The story-line is also different and interesting. Right now it's on it's 6th episode and it's really
interesting.
All in all life is exciting... its really more interesting if you are doing something and you know only with the help of God will you ever succeed. Makes you feel like you are facing a giant.
That's why the song from Casting Crowns titled, "Voice of Truth" is my found favorite song.
Here is the piece of the lyrics:

Good bye dream #1.
It looks like my dream with my family will not come to pass. I want to blame others but it's probably my fault. I needed all the support I can get but I just got... nada..
So I quit the dream.
I still have dream #2 which looks more promising than dream #1. I can work it out. I hope my partners will not just sit by and watch me make things happen like what my partners in #1 did.
I also have dream #3 and #4 which will mature 6-8 months from now.
#4 is vague but is a probably a good "to do".
Do I still need to mature more? I don't really know..... God Help!!!!
Somehow, having a lot of dream is bad. I want to drop one so I can focus on the very important. I guess I need to slow down again and just feel the whole scenario.
So saying bye bye to one dream is not really bad.. it probably just a good thing.
But I am saddened by my partners... they don't dream as much as I do.

Today is the last day of school.:-D

Champion's heart

One basketball coach once said, "Never underestimate the heart of a champion".
And when you really look at it, its the strength of the heart that will really count when facing adversity.
If your heart is weak, you quickly fall back and grew weak and quit but if your heart is strong, you will rise up in adversities.
This will bring us to the question, "How to strengthen ones heart?"
The Bible says, "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
If God is the strength of you heart then your heart has a very strong foundation.
Then "you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you". That's when you become "more than conqueror".
The Bible says that if God is with you then anyone who is against you will NOT prosper.
This brings us to another question, "How can I make God the strength of my heart?"
The promises of God is available to those who call on him. The Lord says "Call unto me and I will answer thee." So I believe that when we call on the Lord he will hear us and he said that if we will admit our dependence on him, he will raise us up.
I believe that it will all start in seeking him and knowing him. The Bible says "He who knows the Son knows God". Knowing the Son means accepting Jesus as thr Lord and Savior of your life.
Allow me to lead you in a prayer of accepting the Lord in your life:
Follow this prayer and make it you own prayer:
Lord Jesus, I confess my sins, I'm making you Lord and Savior of my life.
If you prayed this prayer truthfully in your heart, the Bible says you are now a child of God.
Get into a Bible based church and if you are interested to grow with me in the Lord, Visit our church, Praise Cathedral @former Belvic Theater or call 254-8877.

I once chatted with a friend about my mentors and how they challenge me to become a better person and how they inspired me to grow and to create a better future not only for myself but also for those who are around me; I mentioned my pastor(N Centino), Joel Osteen, J Maxwell, R Thomson and all the like.
Then my friend asked me, "What about your mom? Is she also your mentor". I was a bit shock for about 10 milliseconds to the question but I finally got hold of myself and searched within my heart who is my mom in my life... then I told my friend that she isn't my mentor bcoz she is more than that.. she more than mold my life.. she created my life.. she nurtured my life.. put it back together when it was shattered.. hold it together when storms tried to shake it.. feed it.. literally feed it.. and gave her own life just to make sure that my life will live and strive and grow and have a better future than what she had. - She is my hero.
To my friend who asked the question (you know who you are).. thank you. You made me think a well even in a split second. I appreciated my mom more and have acknowledge her more. I thank the Lord I have such a mom.

Pattern Recognition

Pattern Recognition
Pattern recognition is an essential aspect of analysis. Probably most of the analysis that we do today is related to patterns. Humans know that a thing (an abstract object) is ball because that “thing” matches the pattern of a ball (it’s roundness, it’s size, it’s texture and etc). We know that the “thing” that seats next to you is another human being because it matches the pattern of a human (the built, the face, the feature, the texture, the smell, the sound, and etc).
When humans look at a “thing”, information from different senses are extracted and that information is feed to the brain and then “probably” the brain processes it and compare it with the existing patterns it met before. If the “sample image” is not in the library of patterns, it registers it as something new. The brain then tells the rest of the body that the “sample image” is something new. If the brain recognizes the pattern it then looks at the behavior tagged to that pattern. It “probably” asks “what does this pattern do?” It then “recalls” the past behavior of the pattern and from there analyzes the future behavior of that pattern.
An example scenario would be, say you are watching a ball game, and you are enjoying the game then suddenly the ball flew up in the air, right above you. At that moment, your brain took a sample of the event. It then realized that the thing flying over you is a ball and from the past experience or from an experienced that you witnessed you know that what goes up usually goes down. It also then realized that the ball should fall on you or near you. It also realized that the ball (being a bowling ball) is hard and it should be painful when it hits your face. Your brain signals the danger alarm and it will cause you to run for your life.
Today, the in the computer science world, we can build a simple A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) that will analyze simple events. What it will do is to mimic what the brain does basing on what is discussed above. To analyze we need to:
1. Capture the event. (Actually just get a sample image)
2. Generate a model of the event. (Realize that the event here could be a thing)
3. Check if the model is already recorded in the “Event’s Library”.
4. If it’s not yet there, saved the event.
5. If it’s there don’t record.
6. Extract the behavior tagged to that event.
7. There should also be a way to get another sample of the event and tagged the recorded attributes to the existing tags.
That should make our lives less complicated. (You wish.) Seven steps that looks simple but honestly, these steps lacks a lot of things. There are more to do than this and each step has more than 5 sub-steps. But I think this can be done, we just need to make our requirements as simple as it can be.
We need to limit our requirements otherwise we will get nowhere. For simplicity, we just need to spot a 2-dimensional “thing” and predict its behavior in a 2-dimensional space.
Speaking of 2-dimensional space, another aspect of analysis via pattern recognition is what I call “spatial awareness”. The observer should be aware what space the object is moving. So in this case, we don’t want to care bout that since we assumed that we are observing a 2-dimensional object in a 2-dimensional space.
What we need to do now is to capture the “image” of a 2D object. It’s height and width and other information necessary to describe the physical appearance of the object (including the color). Record it and place it in the library. Get a sample of the behavior of the object and then record it.

That should make our lives less complicated. (You wish.) Seven steps that looks simple but honestly, these steps lacks a lot of things. There are more to do than this and each step has more than 5 sub-steps. But I think this can be done, we just need to make our requirements as simple as it can be.
We need to limit our requirements otherwise we will get nowhere. For simplicity, we just need to spot a 2-dimensional “thing” and predict its behavior in a 2-dimensional space.
Speaking of 2-dimensional space, another aspect of analysis via pattern recognition is what I call “spatial awareness”. The observer should be aware what space the object is moving. So in this case, we don’t want to care bout that since we assumed that we are observing a 2-dimensional object in a 2-dimensional space.
What we need to do now is to capture the “image” of a 2D object. It’s height and width and other information necessary to describe the physical appearance of the object (including the color). Record it and place it in the library. Get a sample of the behavior of the object and then record it.

This little room

I found a small room again.I'm not sure if this is really my place or
this is just a room to help me find my real place.
Just like any small room that I found, I took a peek
and my blood rushed with excitement.
But unlike before, I didn't had a hard time breathing.
It seemed that I already got accustomed in finding rooms.
I can't help but think that God is preparing me for
a better place.Anyway, this room that I found is not a thrilling as the other
rooms that I found before but I feel peace inside.
This new room is not as astounding as the place I want to have.Yet, who knows God will bring down the walls of this room and build me a bigger
new place. After all God always has a plan. Even when we make a mistake,
He will always make a way so that it will turned up for the good and not for evil.
